The trains are running anytime the Christmas Gift Shop is open, and we invite train lovers and other model railroad enthusiasts to stop by anytime—no purchase is necessary.
Each year we attempt to add something new to the layout. The Pinestead Model Railroad History is a largely pictorial chronological look at its evolution over the years.

The Pinestead Railroad surrounds the interior of the Gift Shop, with two 160 foot loops and more in the center totaling about 350 feet of track for our large scale, G-gauge garden railroad system.
We have two trains running at a given time, going through a 12 foot tunnel, up mountains, across two six foot bridges, and through a covered bridge alongside a waterfall.
We also have two Santa cars running back and forth through a Christmas Village suspendend from the cealing.
Our newest additions include:
A three dimensional, lighted rendition of the Minneapolis skyline--Metrodome, IDS tower, Foshay tower, and more--all fronted by the Stone Arch Bridge, an eight foot double arched bridge over our new gas warming fireplace, and a ski hill complete with chalet and hotel plus cable cars and a train tunneling underneath it, plus several built in sound effects.
